Mr. Barone is the President
of College Bound Selection Service (CBSS). For
the past 30 years he has provided leadership
at Mount Ida College where he served as Director
of Admissions, Director of Financial Aid, Dean
of Admissions & Financial Aid, Associate
Vice President for Enrollment Management and
Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration.
During the period 1973 to 1998, Mount Ida's
enrollment increased from 693 to 1,950, the
operating budget increased by 1,100%, and the
tuition discount rate remained below 24% as
the College successfully pioneered TWO-PLUS-TWO
education in the Northeast.
In 1981, Mr. Barone was recognized
by the Trustees of the College as having "developed
one of the most successful and professional
admissions programs amongst the private two
year colleges in New England. Its success is
demonstrated by the perennial achievements of
both capacity enrollments and high levels of
student retention."
Mr. Barone's leadership continued
to prove instrumental in the College's successful
transition to a traditional baccalaureate institution
which began in 1999.
During his tenure Mr. Barone
has presented at National Association of College
Admissions Counselors conferences and conducted
regional seminars on "The Utilization of
Direct Mail In Student Recruitment."
Mr. Barone brings to
CBSS a comprehensive experience in the integration
of admissions recruitment, direct marketing,
financial aid leveraging, institutional research,
tuition receivables, and budgeting as they inter-relate
in the successful quest for the ideal blend
of institutional aspirations with student recruitment
and retention.
